Workzone G1.4.3 Report
Updated 12/14/2023

Summary

This field south of the hill contain several prairie grasses, which is something of a novelty at Oakhurst. However, without action, the grasses are at risk from being overrun by a combination of teasel, reed canary grass, and woody brush. By keeping these plants are bay, we feel this as good as a spot as any to introduce various prairie forbs, and thus serve as a seed source for future restoration efforts. Its small size will make it easy to manage, and limited thatch increase probability of seed germinating and plants becoming established.
