Workzone G1.1.4 Report

Summary

This workzone comprises of wet strip of land than runs from the sumac patch up to the sycamore tree near the road, and the part of the slope free of boxelder. This area is usually muddy and water logged in spring, but by summer is full of sedges. Biggest problems include teasel and reed canary grass. Red cedar is also common.

Fair amount of blue vervain found in area south of the sledhill, but under threat by large mono-cultures of teasel rosettes - collect later in season

2018-07-18 Cut teasel in the meadow on the eastern slope of the hill (Zone 6 on map). Seasonally wet, teasel spread out across most of the area. Predominately sedges and rushes. This is the 1st year of teasel control.
