Unit G1 - The Sled Hill

The first major unit we work is G1, which is the area that encompasses the sled hill; in addition to this, we also work part of the W1 (Lake Patterson and its border), and M1 (which comprises the shelters and area in between). This is the most active part of the preserve, with people fishing the lake, hiking the trails, or exercising up the hill. Most of our summer work in focused here, primarily dealing with herbacious plants such as teasel. Efforts are also underway to increase the flora diversity by introducing native prairie and wetland plants.

The workzones of G1 are grouped in fours sections - G1.1 (east), G1.2 (north), G1.3 (hilltop), and G1.4 (west and south), before being broken down further.
